Stayed here 2 nights. The front desk person Showana was so friendly and helpful. We stayed on a higher floor. Room was a studio suite. Good size room. Stocked kitchen as well as the bathroom with enough towels and toiletries. Bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. Had enough room for 2 of us. The room was quiet too. There is a restaurant which we went to for dinner with family and the food was very good. The service was also very good. We had breakfast both days downstairs. Very nice selection of food items. The price for the room was reasonable too. Location there is a river view which maybe next time I would like. I will definitely come back. Thanks for a great stay.

Our room was spacious and clean and had all the amenities needed if we were staying longer (we stayed for just one night). The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, and the women who staffed the breakfast area went out of their way to help us out. The pool was lots of fun and warm, with a great view of the river. One problem was I accidentally left our bathing suits hanging in the shower when we checked out. I called the hotel the same day when I realized I left them behind but they had not been turned in. I called back the next day to double check but they were never turned in, and the person at the front desk acknowledged they had likely been thrown away. I know it is my fault for leaving items behind, but I would have hoped that a nice hotel like this would have a procedure for putting aside left-behind items. The only other suggestion I would have is to improve the signage in the parking area in front of the hotel. There are a few signs that the parking in front of the hotel are for the restaurant, but it is not clear that the entire area is not for the hotel. So after checking in, we had to carry everything back to the car to move it to a different area (my son is too young to leave in the hotel alone while I moved the car). Overall we had a great stay.

Daytime and evening staff were helpful, courteous and attentive. Made our stay and that of my family memorable. We stayed for 5 days and had 3 rooms. All family members from 2 to 85 were taking care of with kindness and professionalism.

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I enjoy staying at different properties within the company's portfolio when visiting a particular city. Having stayed at downtown Schenectady properties a few times before, I decided to try this Homewood Suites, albeit with an Uber ride required as well due to its being just outside my walking distance from the train station and with the roads not looking safe to walk along. I decided to treat myself to a balcony room overlooking the Mohawk River. As I always do, I checked in and chose my room the day before arrival. That room was ready before I arrived in town. Upon arrival, I went straight to my room with the Digital Key, bypassing the front desk. I would return later to claim my spring water. I found the suite to be spacious, and the balcony appeared safe and had comfortable seating. The bathroom had ample space for my toiletries. WiFi and TV worked fine, and the bed was comfortable yielding a good night's sleep. Temperature was easy to control. The only nit I had was when I went down to the front desk for water I had to wait quite a while as a group of coworkers checking in for a while had some sort of issues that took the front desk person's attention for a while. With the Digital Key possible, a suggestion could be to provide the water in the room, as some properties do. While I enjoy trains, do keep in mind that some do pass by on a nearby bridge and across the river, and they do sound their horns.... so having the view of the river for some might be offset by the noise. I heard two Amtrak trains and one freight train but they all passed before I went to sleep. In the morning, the breakfast was just enough to tide me over until lunchtime in New York City after my train arrived. My Uber drivers made note of the fact that the Rivers Casino is within walking distance, with some restaurants within -- however I chose not to partake. The hotel is technically not in Schenectady, but on the west bank of the river it's called East Glenville. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and it's recommended if you want an alternative to the hotels in downtown Schenectady and don't mind taking a short ride to get there.

NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED!!!

Two years ago , we stayed at this hotel and were pleased. This time around, not so. When we arrived, it was around midnight on July 20. As we checked in the night clerk was attentive and helpful, but things went downhill from there. The carpet outside our room had a large stain in front of our door from probably a bleach spill and the rest of the carpet on the floor needed a good shampooing. As we settled in to bed, we noticed the ceiling was cracked from an obvious ceiling leak some time before. This made us hope there was not a heavy rain in the forecast. One of the three drawers in the dresser was not working so some of our clothes stayed in our suitcase. The shower itself was clean but the edges around the doors were filled with crud and needed a good clean out. Since rooms were cleaned only on request, we felt that we only needed the service once during our stay which certainly did not tax their staff. Breakfast in general was ok , but quite predictable as there was little variation in the week we were there. Attendants were quick to close up and on one or two occasions it was noted that a number of people arriving twenty minutes before closing had little or no food left. On check-out, I noted water was available for new Hilton honors guests, but felt after paying over $1842, I would be able to take a two bottle bag. WRONG!! The clerk and manager objected greatly to me and added $10 to my bill for the"stolen" water. Needless to say when we returned to the area we stayed elsewhere and would certainly not recommend the place where I tried to steal their water.
